Avalakki Oggarane: simple and spicy avalakki oggarane

Avalakki Oggarane:

               Simple Spicy Avalakki Oggarane is an easy to cook, nutritious breakfast. Avalakki oggarane is perfect for breakfast and low fat recipe..




Ingredients:
  • 2 cups                   medium  avalakki/ pohai
  • 2 Tbsp                   oil
  • 1 Tsp                     mustard seeds
  • 1 Tsp                     jeera     
  • 1 Tbsp                   chana dal
  • 1 Tsp                     Urad dal
  • 1Tbsp                   groundnut/peanut
  • 3-4                        curry leaves
  • 2-3                        green chilies
  • 1 Tsp                    turmeric powder
  • 2                            onion
  • 1/2 Tsp                 sugar (optional )
  • 1 Tsp                     lime juice 
  • 1 Tsp                    salt (as per taste)
  • 1 Tsp                    grated coconut(optional)     


Method :
  1. Wash and soak avalakki in water for 3-4 min. then drain water completely and leave aside for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a kadhai/pan. When oil is hot add mustard seeds,and jeera.
  3. Then add  chanadal and urad dal ,peanut. cook till dals turn brown.
  4. Add chopped onions and  chopped green chilles, curry leaves, stirr well  and Fry them for 3-4 min.
  5. Then add salt, sugar and turmeric powder .
  6. Then add avalakki to it , mix well .
  7. Reduce the flame and cook for 3 min.After switch off the stove.
  8.  Add lemon juice and mix well
  9.  Garnish with chopped coriander leaves  and grated coconut before you serve.
