Rava kesaribath / Halwa:(sooji/semolina)
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Rava (Sooji /semolina)
- 1/3 cup Ghee
- 1¼ cups Water/milk
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 5 Almonds (badam), sliced
- 5 Cashew nuts (kaju), chopped
- 10 Raisins
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder
- 1/4 tsp kesar/safforn
Method:
- Melt ghee in a heavy bottomed pan.Add nuts and then raisins and roast until very lightly colored.
- Now add sooji and roast on low flame heat until lightly colored and fragrant.
- Add sugar , cardamom powder and water/milk , increase heat to medium.
- When most of the water is absorbed, add a pinch of salt and saffron if using.Stir in gently and cover with a lid.
- The sooji halwa is now ready for serving.
