Ghorikai Uppakari

Ingredients:
- 500 gm cluster beans/ ghorikai
- 2tbsp oil
- 1tsp mustard seeds
- 1tsp channa dal
- 6-8 red chillies
- 10-12 curry leaves
- 1/2 tsp asafoetida/hing
- 4-6 green chillies
- 1tbsp coconut
- Salt
Method:
- Cut the beans into fine slices, blanch and set aside.
- Grate the coconut and slit the green chillies.
- Cut the red chillies into 1/2 inch pieces.
- Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds, when crackling, add the dal. When the dal turns golden in color add the curry leaves, asafoetida and green chillies and saute for 1 minute.
- Add the beans and the salt. Sprinkle 1/4cup of water, cover and cook on a low flame.
- When the beans are done, add the coconut and stir for 2 minutes.
