Malpua/Pancake:
Malpua is a pancake served as a dessert or a snack, popular in India .
Ingredients:
- ¾ cup all purpose flour
- 5 tsp semolina
- 1tsp rice flour(optional)
- 2 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 cup milk
- Oil for deep frying
- 2 cup sugar syrup
- For Garnish
- Fennel seeds
- Sugar syrup
- Saffron(optional)
Method :
- Mix all purpose flour, semolina, fennel seeds and milk in a bowl to prepare a batter,without lumps.
- Heat oil in a pan with medium heat.
- Gently pour a ladle full of batter, taking care that it does not separate in oil.
- Fry on a medium flame till brown on both sides.
- Transfer on a plate to cool a bit.
- Soak the malpuas in sugar syrup for 5 mins.
- Transfer malpuas on serving plate .
- Garnish the prepared malpua with fennel seeds, sugar powder and saffron.
- Malpua is ready to serve.
