Banana chips:
These banana chips fried in coconut oil are perfect to snack they are best stored in an air tight container and can last for days.
- 4 medium raw bananas
- 3 cups water
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- oil for deep frying ( coconut oil optional)
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Cut the banana into thin slices , Put the slices of banana into a solution of water, salt and turmeric and let set for 5 minutes.
- Give it a good mix and transfer to a colander to drain completely or .dry them with clean kitchen towels or napkins.
- Heat oil for deep frying in a kadai
- when the oil is medium hot, add the slices in small batches and fry on medium heat.
- Fry until golden in color and transfer onto a paper napkin.
- Repeat with the rest of the slices.
- Sprinkle with salt and chilli powder and let it cool.
- Store in an air-tight container for up to a week.
